Of course, maybe I'm wrong about all of this. Assassin's Creed is more of the same (which is great stuff), but I don't know if it'll touch on the Desmond threat that I'm really interested in. Sure, I think it's going to be short, but it's fresh and I really want to know what happens with these characters. Still, if I had to choose which one I'd want to play based on my two brief sessions, I'd go Dead Space 2. Assassin's Creed offers more for fans looking to be Ezio, and Dead Space 2 takes the weapons and setting we know and tweaks enough stuff to make it feel different. I think both pieces of DLC are going to be fun. I had a great time with that game, but I wasn't really itching for more. Plus, it feels exactly like the missions in Brotherhood. I only got a taste of the game, but it didn't seem like it was running that well. That's cool, and Leonardo's always been awesome, so why wouldn't I want to help him? The+Bad Interestingly, the DLC has different intros and outros depending on whether or not you beat Brotherhood. Toss in the multiplayer additions, and it seems like it'll be worth the 800 Microsoft Points/$9.99. Sure, I'd really like to see more of Desmond's tale considering how Brotherhood ended, but eight missions of assassinations and Roman rooftops are fine by me. If you're a story whore like myself, I can't wait to see how the plot shakes down for Gabe and what fellow Dead Space Extraction character Lexine's role is in the game. I loved the sequel, so getting new content to blast through is fine by me, and the fact that it feels fresh thanks to the pacing means I'll be kept on my toes. You eventually go to a new place and fight some new bad guys, but you'll be seeing old locales and fighting familiar enemies. This is a very traditional expansion - it's just an icon that pops up on the in-game map once you've downloaded it and cleared the third mission. You start with a Pulse Rifle, and pretty much every battle is made up of waves of Necromorphs coming at you and you mowing them down. I know lots of people lost their minds when it was said that Dead Space 2 would have more action game moments, but Severed is all action game moments. The mechanics are the same as Dead Space 2, but the pacing is sped up. This download includes some multiplayer stuff, but I haven't played that yet. Picking up after the final memory sequence in Brotherhood, this eight-mission download kicks off with Leonardo Da Vinci getting nabbed by bad guys and Ezio heading off to save the namesake of a Ninja Turtle. Ezio is back, and his life is filled with the normal amount of killing and such.
